1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to Makeigo. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Makeigo website, mobile application, and related services (collectively, the "Services").

By accessing or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not use our Services.

2. About Makeigo

Makeigo is an online transportation booking platform that connects passengers with independent bus operators offering scheduled transportation services within Nigeria.

Our Services include, but are not limited to:

  • Bus ticket booking and reservation
  • Seat selection
  • Secure online payment processing
  • Electronic ticket issuance
  • Trip management
  • Optional Live Location Sharing
  • Customer support

Makeigo acts as a technology platform facilitating bookings between passengers and bus operators. Transportation services are provided by independent bus operators.

3. User Accounts

3.1 Registration

Some features require you to create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your information updated.

3.2 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities conducted through your account. You must notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

3.3 Account Suspension or Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you:

  • Violate these Terms;
  • Engage in fraudulent, abusive, or unlawful activities;
  • Provide false or misleading information; or
  • Use our Services in a manner that harms Makeigo, other users, or bus operators.

4. Booking and Payment

4.1 Booking Process

All bookings are subject to seat availability and confirmation by the selected bus operator. Once your booking is confirmed, you will receive your booking confirmation and electronic ticket through the app, email, SMS, or any other available communication channel.

4.2 Payment

Payments are processed securely through trusted payment providers such as Paystack. By making a payment, you authorize the applicable payment processor to charge your selected payment method for the total booking amount.

4.3 Pricing

All prices are displayed in Nigerian Naira (₦). Prices may change before a booking is completed. Once your booking has been confirmed and payment has been successfully processed, the confirmed price will apply.

5. Live Location Sharing

Makeigo offers an optional Live Location Sharing feature.

When you choose to enable this feature:

The app may access your device's location. Background location is collected only while Live Location Sharing is active. Location sharing stops when you end the sharing session or disable the feature. This feature is intended solely to allow people you choose to monitor your trip in real time to do so. For more information about how location data is handled, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

6. Cancellations and Refunds

Cancellation, rescheduling, and refund policies vary depending on the selected bus operator. Where applicable, refunds will be processed in accordance with the operator's policy and applicable laws.

7. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate booking information.
  • Maintain accurate account information.
  • Arrive at the departure location before the scheduled departure time.
  • Carry any required identification documents.
  • Follow the instructions of the bus operator and transport personnel.
  • Use the Services responsibly and lawfully.

8. Prohibited Activities

You agree not to:

  • Use the Services for unlawful purposes.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts.
  • Interfere with the operation or security of the Services.
  • Distribute malware or harmful software.
  • Resell tickets without authorization.
  • Submit false or misleading information.
  • Use automated tools or bots to manipulate bookings or access the Services.

9. Privacy

Your use of the Services is also governed by the Makeigo Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information.

By using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy.

10. Intellectual Property

All content available through the Services, including software, text, graphics, logos, trademarks, icons, images, and other materials, is owned by or licensed to Makeigo and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You may not reproduce, modify, distribute, or commercially exploit any part of the Services without our prior written permission.

11. Service Availability

We strive to keep our Services available at all times. However, we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. The Services may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, upgrades, technical issues, security concerns, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

12. Limitation of Liability

Makeigo acts solely as a technology platform connecting passengers with independent bus operators.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Makeigo shall not be liable for:

  • Delays, cancellations, or schedule changes by bus operators;
  • Loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings;
  • Injuries or incidents occurring during transportation;
  • Actions or omissions of independent bus operators;
  • Indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from the use of our Services.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability where such exclusion is prohibited by applicable law.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Makeigo, its directors, employees, partners, and affiliates from any claims, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses arising from your violation of these Terms or misuse of the Services.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the Services after the changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Nigeria.
